Biography

Paweł Powroźnik has been working as an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science at the Lublin University of Technology, since 2016. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science at the Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin, Poland in 2009 and 2011, respectively. In 2018 he defended his Ph.D. thesis at the Lublin University of Technology. After M.S. graduation, he worked as an iOS Mobile Application Developer, from 2016 until 2021 he successfully combined commercial and university responsibilities.

His main research interests are focused on machine learning, data classification, computer vision, analysis of the usability of graphical interfaces, and intangible cultural heritage as well as motion capture, 3D motion analysis. His teaching areas concern programming languages, mobile iOS programming, databases as well as artificial intelligence. He is the author and co-author of many scientific publications, books and monographs.

He participates or actively acquired educational and scientific national and international grants, such as:

  • ”ETMO- Education and training in 3D motion analysis‘‘ (EDUCATION PROGRAM – MF EOG 2014-2021),
  • “Preserve from posterity” – 3D technology in protecting the traditions of national and regional dances (Social responsibility of science II –Popularization of science, co-financing from the Ministry of Education and Science),
  • “Expansion of the motion capture laboratory of the Department of Computer Science” (co-financing from the Ministry of Education and Science).

He is a member of IEEE, Polish IT Society, Association for Image Processing, Lublin Scientific Society.
